11th ESPL - PROGRAM
The 11th ESPL in Bonn
The 11th European Symposium on Plant Lipids (ESPL) will be hosted in Bonn from the 6. to the 10. of July 2025. After more than 15 years, this is the first time this meeting is hosted and organized in Germany. To ensure close interaction between the participants accommodation and scientific presentations will take place at one single location, the Gustav-Stresemann-Institute. The slightly modified format with three full days and a closing conference dinner provides more time for scientific exchange. The keynote speakers are invited from outside Europe to enable European researchers to interact with scientists from overseas. Selected European early career researchers will have a change to present their research subject in plenary talks. The conference will start with a flash talk session on posters to attract participants to the posters presented during coffee breaks and the two poster sessions.
What's in it for you?
Plant lipids are essential for photosynthesis, membrane integrity, and energy storage, playing critical roles in signaling, and surface protection processes. Their study not only advances our understanding of these functions but also supports the development of climate-resilient and sustainable agricultural practices, including the creation of biofuels and oil crops. Come to Bonn and discover how research on plant lipids, pivotal for essential pathways and processes, is generating significant scientific knowledge with the potential to revolutionize biotechnology and agriculture. At the heart of this transformation is the ESPL, an international conference bringing together global experts to exchange groundbreaking discoveries. Explore the potential of lipids in creating sustainable, resilient crops.
ESPL: A Hub for Lipid Innovation
The ESPL conference is a beacon for lipid research, fostering international collaboration. It encourages a free exchange of ideas, providing a platform for young researchers and seasoned scientists to discuss general lipid metabolism and application, from lipids in algae to engineered oil crops, providing the basis for future biotechnological breakthroughs.
The scientific advisory committee for the ESPL 2025 has been established in summer 2024
